“Forgiveness is the pathway to healing,” says Father Robert DeGrandis. “I have discovered that when

we simply allow the Lord to empower our choice to forgive, the transformation process begins.”

Forgiveness sets us free! When you pray the following forgiveness prayer, it closes the door to Satan,

who no longer has a right to enter your heart or remain there, because you are choosing to give Jesus

authority in that area. When you forgive someone, you are fulfilling Jesus’ instruction: “For if you forgive

other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

Lord, I forgive (name the person). (Now list the things stolen from your soul, e.g. dignity, respect, safety,

trust, security) Lord, I give You permission to take the judgment and the bitterness out of my life. I do not

want this in my life. I surrender it to You and ask You to remove it, to heal me where I have been wounded,

to forgive me where I have sinned. I choose not to blame or hold the actions of others against them. I

hereby surrender my right to be paid back for my loss by the one who has sinned against me, and in so

doing, I declare my trust in God alone, as the Righteous Judge.

In the name of Jesus Christ who is both human and divine, I seal this with the Blood of Jesus. Father

God, bless them in every way. In Jesus’ Name,
